Michael Cappetto is a singer-songwriter and guitar player. His music blends pop, alt‑rock, and folk, all grounded in an acoustic sensibility.

Michael’s sound is shaped by an eclectic mix of artists who’ve left their mark on him. From the raw emotional power of Chris Cornell, Jeff Buckley, and Linkin Park to the melodic craftsmanship of Ed Sheeran and Charlie Puth (the latter made music feel personal when Michael learned that Charlie was once a student of his mom’s in middle school). The arena rock intensity of Shinedown and the heartfelt sincerity of Brandon Lake round out a palette that’s both vulnerable and powerful. Together, these influences fuel a voice that can belt with grit or settle into a warm, inviting resonance helping Michael connect with audiences far beyond the stage.

Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, Michael discovered his passion for music at age seven when he was gifted a piano. At the age of 13, he picked up his first guitar, igniting a spark that solidified his desire to pursue music as a lifelong career.

Throughout his formative years, Michael studied under revered mentors, beginning with Jody Joseph, cousin of Jon Bon Jovi, who was his first vocal teacher. He went on to work with R&B singer Brenda K Starr, Broadway's Deb Lyons, and opera soprano Cynthia Balme. Through their guidance, Michael refined his technique, discovered the power of his voice, and charted a path that would define his artistic identity.

From iconic music venues such as The Stone Pony and Count Basie Center for the Arts to bars, hotels, and festivals along the Jersey Shore and in New York City, Michael effortlessly captivates audiences with his powerful vocal range and modest stage presence. Whether singing about falling in love, grappling with loss, or navigating life’s challenges, Michael's storytelling creates a space where vulnerability is embraced and shared experiences are celebrated.

Michael started by putting his own spin on cover songs, but songwriting became his true outlet. His music draws from real life, blending honest emotion with melody to tell stories that connect.

Michael has released five original songs through his label, RubuCapp Studios. His debut, “You’re Just Not The One,” captures the honesty of a relationship that isn’t meant to be. “Where Are You, My Love” searches for the hope of finding true love. “Beautiful As You” celebrates the joy of being with someone who feels extraordinary. “Fool” looks back at the pain of being misled in love. His latest, “Nowhere To Go?,” is a tender tribute to his late grandfather, navigating the weight of life after loss.
